Our Goats
We do our best to keep our goats happy, which starts by keeping them healthy. All of our goats are kept up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming at all times. Hooves are trimmed regularly and all goats are disbudded soon after birth. Our goats always have a supply of salts and minerals free-choice. We have about 8 fenced acres where they can roam with or without our horses' company, eating whatever they find that the horses picked around. High quality hay is available at all times, although they much prefer being outside on a sunny day. Usually, when I find free time, I open the doors and take the goats for a walk in the woods, allowing them to stretch their legs and eat whatever they find during their browsing. No, you don't have to worry about losing a goat. They are herd animals, and never stray out of eyesight of the rest of the herd, which will follow their leader, the human that feeds them.
Currently, we hand milk our does and use the milk to feed kids and make cheese for our family's use.
We ask that you please excuse these pictures of our goats, as many are unshaven and/or dry photos. We hope to have new photos available soon!
